The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) is divided into seven distinct regions, each of which holds an annual Regional Leadership Development Conference (RLDC) in the spring. Region 4 consists of the following: CT, PA, DC, PR, DE, RI, MA, VA, MD, VT, ME, WV, NH, NJ, and NY! This year the Region 4 RLDC, under the theme of “Shaping Cornerstones” is being hosted by the Washington, DC Professional Chapter and the George Mason University Student Chapter.
Welcome to Region 4!
The DC chapter of SHPE was established in 1988 to bring together like minded professionals in SHPE’s 6 pillars – Career development, leadership development, professional development, chapter “familia” development, STEM pipeline development (professional-student chapter interaction), and community service. SHPE is open to all professionals (not only engineers and not only Latinxs) who share SHPE’s mission of changing lives by empowering the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential and to impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support and development. It’s free to Join SHPE DC! Joining SHPE National as a paid professional member opens up even more opportunities, including access to SHPE Conference – the nation’s largest technical and career conference for Hispanics – and Regional Leadership Development Conferences across the country. SHPE Orange County Professional Chapter
The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers – Orange County Professional Chapter (part of the Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area) in Southern California was revamped early 2017 by seven initial serving Board of Directors. Since then, the SHPE OC Professional Chapter has been growing and developing into an active chapter focused on community outreach and creating the SHPE Familia with the involvement with the orange county community and student chapters.
