Optimizing Performance using Data Driven Decisions – SAIC

Data driven decisions are critical to optimizing business, customer, and mission outcomes. Most companies host an HR analytics team that compile analytical observations based on data trends and patterns. This data is then interpreted by managers to assess and report on progress against pre-determined company strategies. While effective, this approach is not optimized as subjective analysis can dominate interpretation of results.
At SAIC – our motto is Redefining Ingenuity. Sudarshan Srinivasan, Data Scientist Principal, is doing just that. Sudarshan has worked to develop and apply a repeatable analytical framework for the company’s HR performance to objectively measure and report on progress of business objectives using an easy to understand composite score to track the outcomes within the context of business objectives.
Join us and check out the incredible work SAIC is doing to optimize our workplace!

The Future of Nuclear Energy – Plant Vogtle – Bechtel

In a world with high demands of energy, more sustainable energy resources are needed. Nuclear energy is one of the most efficient energy resources that exit; however, it only accounts for about 10% percent of the total energy used in the USA. The high costs for construction of nuclear reactors and concerns about safety turn to be the most common reasons why people oppose nuclear energy. With this in mind, Westinghouse designed the AP1000 Pressured Water Reactor (AP1000 PWR), which is the safest and most economical nuclear power plant available worldwide.
Plant Vogtle units 3 and 4 is the first nuclear power plant being build in the USA in over 30 years. Plant Vogtle uses the AP1000 design, which promises to become a revolutionary change in the nuclear energy industry. This will open the doors to a new era of sustainable energy for the USA!
